Season 104 has come to an end and we would like to share the game news and update progress.

Champions

World League 1.1

 

Wǒ bù pà has had an amazing season, averaging only 50 points conceded per game. They say offence wins games and defence wins championships, and that was the case in WL1 this season. Wǒ bù pà swept ★ChuanShu★ comfortably 3:0, conceding only 46 points per game.

 

Utenos Green Death had no trouble sweeping Sun Tzu in the bronze series.

 

Cuo Nuo (220 cm, 337 RT) of ★ChuanShu★ has been named the MVP of the league, averaging 9 points and 5 rebounds. 

 

6 times WL1 champion Minnesota Timberwolves were demoted to WL2 after finishing 31st in the league, despite clinching bronze last season. Time for a change?

World Cup 

 
 

BP Classic final of Lithuania vs China was played in the final where Lithuania made a solid start and controlled the whole game 72:59. Coach Zolininkas brought the title to Lithuania after a 16 season break.

 

Hong Kong lost heavily to China in the semi final, however managed to recover in the bronze medal game 63:52 against Latvia. 

 

Mad Ghost (223 cm, 398 RT) of China did not get third MVP of WL1 in a row, however claimed MVP title in the World Cup, averaging 8 points, 6 boards and 3 assists per game.

U18 World Cup 

France had been up by 2 points with few seconds to go in the final game against China, however, Z. Ao scored a tough shot from the post to bring the game to overtime where China triumphed 79:76.  

 

Lithuania won bronze in a nail-biter against Hong Kong 59:58 with K. Bimba showing his ice cold nerves and scored a decisive basket at the end of the game.

 

Zhentian Ao (210 cm, 233 RT) of China scored the super-important bucket in the final and rightfully was named the MVP of the whole tournament, averaging 15 points and 5 rebounds per game.

“Hello, my name is Daniel, I'm 25 from  Cuba but a Citizen of the  United States , and I'm manager of the Miami Calor, currently in WL 6.23 and US4.7. This is my first time playing this game, I was completely blind to the world of online manager games and i'm glad i found it. I've played several other manager games none of them online like this one. Mostly Football Manager and the sort. I started in day 14 of this season and I'm enjoying learning the game so far, albeit I am getting my butt kicked when i come against a managed team. As you can probably tell by my club name I am a fan of the Miami Heat (Unfortunately the name was taken :) ), and have been since I got to Miami in 2008. In the Miami Heat though, there is a culture of hard work and effort similar to Valencia above called "Heat Culture" and my tactics try to reflect this playstyle with relentless effort on the court. As of yet I have not achieved anything but I'm looking forward to the heights I can bring this club to.”

Season 104 Updates

• National leagues’ prize system updated. More information may be found here.

• Early win bonus in the series increased. It is calculated regarding expensive tickets (earlier average price tickets were regarded)

• Created new official discord server of BasketPulse and game integration, which assigns roles and usernames automatically

• Created Discord tools to navigate through issues easier for FPC volunteers. FPC internal rules reviewed and updated. 

• Reviewed and improved game rules.

• Created new help section on how to seek for Help and Support.

• Moved forward a lot towards the New registration page. It will include the possibility to select and customize the team's franchise player. As well, the registration process will be more attractive visually.

• Other small fixes.

 

Match engine updates
 

This season we did not have time to look at the reported bugs of match engine, however we spent significant time improving balancing, especially towards big amount of turnovers and balancing dribbling skill.        


Match engine Version 1.12:

• slightly decreased amount of shot clock violations;
• increased influence of dribbling skill on creating better attack situation;
• reduced amount of travelling turnovers;
• slightly increased influence of dribbling skill during pick and roll;
• slightly decreased turnovers amount during loose ball situations (after deflection);
• slightly decreased 8-seconds violations.

 

Here are the average team stats changes compared to v1.11:

Points: 66.64 → 71.75

Turnovers: 20.79 → 12.89

Effectiveness: 58.43 → 71.25

Teams are now performing more efficiently, with smarter decision-making and better scoring.    
 

We believe that the dribbling skill influence has been balanced at this point. Given that everything works as expected in Season 105, we will pause the changes.

 

Nearest future plans

• Focus on reported bugs of the match engine.

• Finish the new registration pages.

• Include internal updates and improvements of the game system.

• Update more old-design pages.

• Go back to working on the new traits feature.
