I would like to review the last season that has been as eventful as ever.

Champions

World League 1.1

For the second season in a row the strongest league in the game has been won by a Lithuanian team. King Murza 89 took the reigns after a 3-0 clean sweep against Minnesota Timberwolves, that won its first silver ever. Last year's finalists Utenos green death and GOD have met in the bronze series and Utenos green death has topped GOD to win the medal with a nail-biting away victory in game 5.

U16 World Cup

China has been dominating the whole championship and has won the cup cruising past the United States by 29 points in the final. France has won bronze for the sixth time by beating Argentina in a 3rd place game.

U21 World Cup

After last seconds drama China has beaten tournament hosts Lithuania in the final. Taiwan has won their first bronze ever by beating France in the 3rd place game. Well done!

Jobs done in the season 89:

  • Updated training system (shape works as long-term tiredness);
  • Long-term tiredness effect increased from the beginning of 90th season;
  • New design of Coach page;
  • Increased foreign players' limit in the National Leagues by 1 more player (6 in total);
  • BasketPulse T-shirts were sent to game members who contributed to the development of the game.
  • From the beginning of 90th season, the main match engine will be updated (version 1.2, which will be exactly the same as 1.2.0-b.11 version of the testing match engine)
    • Bug fix: attack time violation repeats second time;
    • Bug fix: full court press influence towards player's tiredness will depend also on playing time. It used to be the same for all players despite how much minutes they played;
    • Increased home court influence;
    • Included a safeguard for a player so that he cannot miss more than 30% of his shots due to being unlucky. The limit is applied for each shooting position (close/mid-range/three).
Key points of the training update:
  • Players will start the new season in the "unprepared" shape. Therefore, the teams will have to give playing time to the players to get them ready for the season ahead.
  • The shape works as a long-term tiredness. Starting this season (90th) the shape of the player will be controlled by the manager - by adjusting playing time. In order to keep the good shape, sometimes the minutes of the players will need to be adjusted or the player may even use a day off to rest and go back to a good shape.
How does the shape work?
  • The shape is influenced by the tiredness of the player in the interval of [-5; 5];
  • In addition to that each player puts in individual effort to go towards the perfect shape and that results the shape to move towards perfect by points in the interval between [-3; 3]. F.e. given that the perfect shape is inbetween 40 and 70 points, the player will try to go toward the middle of the interval (55). If the player has 52 or less shape points, then the player will get +3 shape points. In contrast, when the players has 58 or more shape points, then the player will get -3 shape points. That will help the managers to control the players' shape.
  • We will monitor the effect of the update on the teams' rosters and it is very likely that starting season 91 the individual effort of the player will be capped with 2 points instead of 3.

Plans for season 90

  • In the upcoming few seasons we will increase (little by little) how much health is decreasing at the end of the season. This is because health does not decrease anymore for injured players or because of bad shape.
  • At the end of the season increase long-term tiredness effect a bit more, if necessary.
