Coach training update discussion

We are working on the coaches' system update further. The current system is out-dated and we want to make it more fun and more realistic.

Before making coaches improvements jumps we must completely redo coach training. This is a major change in coaches development, therefore we would like to give time for the community to discuss how the development of coaches should work. We expect to launch the update for coaches training in season 98.

Key points:

  1. Part of the criteria for coach development will remain the same as before: potential, inner skill potential and daily surprises.

  2. Currently, there is almost no influence of age to the development of the coach.

    • The influence of age will be greatly magnified, i.e. young coaches will improve faster while older coaches will not improve at all or minimally or even start losing part of their skills.

    • The current older coaches' development will be affected significantly - the coach who is getting closer towards retirement will not reach his previous full potential. This could be solved by delaying the update further, but there might never be the perfect time to improve the outdated training system.

  3. We are going to get rid of the criteria of the World League division. At the moment, coaches develop faster in higher leagues and slower in the lower leagues. Therefore, the teams in the lower divisions struggle to develop coaches. Instead, we want to provide an opportunity to develop coaches faster in all leagues by introducing additional criteria:

    • Training of head coaches would depend on the level of the opponents’ coach - the better the opponent coach - the faster the coach learns and develops due to being challenged more.

The least complex way to determine how challenging the game was for the coach is by comparing head coaches' RT. We have chosen this way of comparing the teams’ level as the players' RT does not correlate with the coaches RT.

    • Training of assistant and training coaches would depend on the difference between the coach RT and the head coach RT. The learning curve would be better when having a better head coach.

This is a draft project that we will start developing in season 97 and expect to launch in season 98. We expect that the update of the coaches' training will allow the users to develop their coaches in a more effective way and will bring more fun.

Please share your opinion about the key points of the changes in the comments below and we will take them into account.

The transition period going to be difficult for the majority with coaches that are 55+
But the bright side is that at least with the update it will not take 4-5 irl years for coach to be great

GM's update logic is, "I have an idea that I think is great. Oh, that's great. There are also people who support me. Okay, that's it." Other players' feelings do not need to be ignored at all. If you like to play, stay and play. If not, you can go out. -- 96 S 46 d.

The original intention of GM is good, but I don't actually oppose any modifications. But this has indeed injured some people, including myself. GM said it is impossible to only modify the training of young coaches, which will increase costs. So only teams with coaches aged 50-65 can suffer harm! This makes me feel terrible! It is equivalent to saying that GM sacrificed some people's interests in order to save money. This technology, this ability, this logic, this service attitude, makes me speechless. -- 96 S 46 d.
