Season 98 has come to an end we would like share our game updates and congratulate the champions.

Champions

World League 1.1

 

Minnesota Timberwolves's three championships in a row series has come to an end and WL1 has new champions. Wǒ bù pà have won a title in a nail-bitting series 3-2 against Kylin. The series have gone back and forth and 10 points margin in game 5 has been the biggest in the series.

Last year's champions Minnesota Timberwolves won the bronze series 3-2 against team Answer, exchanging blowout wins in most of the games.
 

Liu Zhua of Wǒ bù pà has been named MVP of the top league, despite averaging only 5 points per game. Hard work getting 7 rebounds per game and helping out his teammates with 4 assists per game brough a lot of value for the champions.

World Cup 

 

Classic BP final was played in the World Cup between China and Lithuania. Chinese had shown close to perfect defense and completely shut down Lithuania from the very beginning of the game and blown their opponent 21 - 0 in the first 7 minutes of the game. Lithuanians have failed to comeback and China won their 16th WC title. 

 

Latvia was one of the positive surprises in the tournament and beat Spain 82-76 in the bronze medal game. Latvians have made a huge come back in the end of the game, wining the last quarter 29 to 12. Good job!

 

Sacha Booth from France has been named MVP of the tournament averaging 20 points and 4 assists per game. S. Booth has a contract for another year with a WL3 Run TMC and shows that he might deserve a shot at a higher level despite turning 30 tomorrow.

U18 World Cup 

 

In an offensive showdown that kept fans on the edge of their seats, Taiwan snagged the gold at the U-18 BasketPulse World Cup, pulling off a jaw-dropping upset against tournament giants China in the finals 99 - 87. This victory catapulted Taiwan to the top of the basketball world, marking them the new champions.

Poland clinched the bronze for the first time in country's history crushing Spain 82 - 57 in the bronze medal game.
 

Cuan Qie from China has been named an MVP of the tournament, scoring 19 points and grabbing 6 rebounds per game. Has he proved that he can play at the senior level already?

Community News

Cups 

Cup idea seams to be getting off with our federations. We have had numerous tournaments organised this year, examplary of which was the first Taiwan Super Cup won by Typhoons. It was a great fun for the participants, including a live broadcast of the cup draw and a solid review. 

On the other hand, Davis Cup this season has, unfortunately, not been finished. We hope that klinx and the team will manage to run it next season and finish it successfully. At least they got a new logo for the cup. :)

Scouting bonus

Spanish community is shining bright and started The Giants magazine this season. Very well done for DanTitan organising it and his federation gets 10% scouting bonus.

For attracting new users with articles outside of the game, as well as organising 1st Super Cup Taiwan federation gets 10% scouting bonus. The community has also organised a live broadcast for the cup draw.

Federation financing
 

Automatic weekly financing will be set to 0. However, the federations that are well-maintained will get a 2.000 credits activity reward.

At the end of the season federation presidents will propose activities to be rewarded by the game administration. The largest rewards will be allocated for activities that contribute to the growth of the federation, such as creating quality posts and articles outside the game. The size of rewards will be subjectively determined by the game administration. More about the criteria may be found here.

Cheating

We have spent a lot of time last season on cheating prevention and over 30 teams were closed, with the most turbulent cheating system linked to cyseric. We have made some changes in order to prevent further cheating cases like that and we will talk about them later in the article. If you spot anything suspicious, please report it to the FPC, and we will run an investigation.
 

Season 98 Updates

 

In the first part of the season we focused on improving the training system. Later on, we shifted our attention to developing improvement jumps of coaches. And we are very glad that we managed to include it this season!
 

• Included improvement jumps of coaches

  • Only head coach that leads the team all season can get improvement jumps

  • Regarded criteria: coach’s age, potential, coach’s tactical skills compared to league’s average, amount of matches won.

  • Coaches’ improvement jumps will be a surprise. The exact formula won’t be disclosed and there won’t be a separate page for observing coaches’ jumps.

• Peak RT is displayed in the page of coach

• Changes related with prevention of cheating

  • Borrowing will be available only to users with bronze and higher rank or those who have purchased game credits at least once.

  • The default trade level will be reduced to Level 4 (only for new users).

  • Households where multiple users play from the same IP address, will be required to have the Premium package. Without Premium, in case of any suspicious activity, such teams will be considered as violating the game’s rules without detailed analysis.
    
    Clarification. We won’t look for players playing from the same IP and we won’t apply any punishments just for using the same IP. However, we need to cut the time spent on analyzing related teams’ trades and loaning. Therefore, if few teams are playing from the same IP without Premium packages, they should follow one of the two following strategies:

    • not participate in trades and loaning

    • only one of related teams participate in trades and loaning

• Other small bug fixes

 

Match engine updates:

version 1.8

• In low atmosphere matches, there's a slight decrease in home court-related events, while there's a slight increase in the event count for high atmosphere matches.

• Reduced invisible coaches influence towards players actions
   

Future plans

• Changes in number of players and coaches in a team

  • Youth team sponsor covers the salaries of up to 12 players and 8 coaches. If a team exceeds this limit, the selection for compensation is done randomly.

  • Starting from season 100, the limit will be further reduced to 5 coaches, whose salaries will be compensated.

• Starting with season 102, coaches’ skills will start decreasing from 60 years old.

• Changes in match engine: adjust coaches’ influence so that it depends on the actual difference between coaches’ skills, not only on the fact that one is better at some skill. Coaches’ influence in matches is quite big, therefore we plan to include changes gradually in the upcoming 5 seasons.
