LEGENDARY GILAS PILIPINAS upsets New Lakers on game 2 of battle for 5th place 80 : 57 in the Pilipinas League 1.1.
MVP of the match is Telmo Salero finishing the game with 22 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, on 8/11 shooting from the field. Vilhelmas Butvydas finished with 18 points, while Joshua Ruò finished the game with 13 points.
New Lakers leading scorer is Nemie Pages with 12 points on poor shooting FG%. L.G. PHI adjustments helped them to took the W, but the main factor why New Lakers lose the game is fatigue factor. Most of their players are exhausted and because of tiredness they shot poor from the field.
While GILAS PILIPINAS players are well prepared and did not experience tiredness for the whole match because of balanced minutes. L.G. PHI also converted 80% of their free throws (16/20) and 10/25 from deep (40%) to win game 2.
New Lakers outrebounded L.G. PHI 42 to 20, especially on the offensive rebounds where New Lakers got 20 offensive rebounds, and converting it to 21 second chance points, but finished the game with 9/22 close range FG (41%).
New Lakers needs to make adjustment if they want to bounce back, especially on the fatigue factor, they are not the New York Knicks.
