Review of BasketPulse's Year 2020

Year 2020 was a strange year - not like the ones we were used to. The pandemic changed how everybody lives and works. Covid-19 affected BasketPulse as well. 
During this year our visitors in the game spent almost 40% more time compared to last year. We hope to find a way to maintain this activity even after the virus disappears from our lives.
For us it was completely the opposite - working hours were reduced due to the little ones, who spent less time with grandparents and in the kindergarten. 

The most notable BasketPulse events and updates
  • The “friday nightmare” when the BasketPulse server completely died with all its data and information. It was a completely sleepless weekend for us and FUN time for our kids, who were able to watch cartoons the whole weekend :) 
  • The new Scouts system and the first Drafts event.
  • The new initiative from the community and the lovely robot - BasketPulse News in Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCj5iR08hrKLz3kyi2nv9UlA

  • The new design of the league page, press conferences, matches schedule, league All Star page, private messages and more.

Finances

Due to increased activity it was the best BasketPulse year in regard to finances. That really motivates us to keep moving forward.
Despite that, the total revenue is still not enough to have even one dedicated person who is working full-time with BasketPulse.
In the next year we plan to continue working in a similar way as this year - a few hours every day and on weekends. 

Plans for the 2021

It is time to pay attention not only to game’s updates but also to the community, this is where we expect help from our new member of administration - HeyHoudini. We need to find a way to make FPC work more clear, to increase activity in less active federations, etc. 

We also plan to increase our time spent towards advertising the game. If we don’t manage to expand the community, BasketPulse's future will be very complicated. 

Of course, we will continue to work on updating the game's features. 
Next to the updates that are planned, it would be great to finally spend some time on improving the match engine.
However, more answers about the concrete updates will be known after the survey that we plan to organize in January.

Sé que hay cosas difíciles de hacer en este juego y una de ellas debe de ser la comunicación; FPC (Fair play commite) a lo que Google traductor me dice (Comité de juego limpio). Tengan algo presente si su interés es captar nuevos usuarios no hagan que ellos pierdan el interés por no saber de qué va tanto el juego como los comunicados. Tengan presente que los nuevos usuarios no saben de siglas y terminologías que los más viejos del juego la tienen super aprendidas. Saludos y Feliz Año para todos.
