前次意料之外上了二聯
隊伍準備不足
為了保級匆忙補強之下消耗過多的青年儲備球員與資金
但仍然連敗降回三聯
球隊不僅陣容殘缺
金流更是岌岌可危

經過97賽季一整個賽季的整頓
球隊資金回穩
也補全了一部分陣容
到了98季
有數名球員的低薪合約即將到期
是再次嘗試衝擊二聯的一個好時機

第一輪小組賽順利取得佳績進入前16名
然而由於球隊偏向內線進攻
後衛群破壞力較為不足
對手著重防守低位時
便容易在內線陷入膠著
而外線卻也難以趁隙打開局面
16強接連折戟僅以邊緣成績進入八強
升級的希望渺茫

然而八強賽卻意外在客場擊敗強敵晉級四強
並在季軍賽時以些微之差險勝對手成功取下最後一席晉級的門票

整體而言
雖然過程幾經波折
但仍然完成原先預定目標
